I looked at my MBTs on the floor the other day and they are so misshapen (although pretty old) that I began to worry a bit about my ankles. So I mentioned this to my lovely and ever patient Pilates teacher, who said it was probably my arches and gave me an exercise to strengthen my metatarsals!! Sadly I scarcely seem to have any! You have to try and squeeze them into a 'dome' shape! - well mine hardly leave the floor while hers are like a gigantic mushroom! So picture me now, every night, watching TV trying to lift my metatarsals (and up till now I thought they were the preserve of footballers) more than five millimetres from the floor. I will persevere though because I am a compliant pupil!

What do you like to watch? And does the exercise enhance the enjoyment or deplete it? x

At the moment it definitely depletes it because I am so pathetic I can't see any movement at all unless my eyes are practically glued to my feet! Although this evening that was a bonus because we just watched the Arsenal thrashed by Bayern Munich, so I missed a good bit of it - mind you I wasn't exercising for ninety minutes - don't even think it! I do physiotherapy whilst listening to the songs from 'Les Mis', which is pretty good fun. Your feet will learn, never fear!
