Yesterday we went to see Cheek by Jowl's production of T'is Pity She's a Whore http://brightonfestival.org/event/2421/tis_pity_shes_a_whore/ at the Brighton Festival. While I'd query some bits of interpretation (Hyppolita a bit too broad, Giovanni not quite cerebral enough maybe), they're famous for their physical acting and it was a highly sexual, vigorous performance around a single set dominated by an enormous red bed. I didn't mind them cutting some of the sub plots BUT they also cut the Nuncio's end speech which we all felt was too big a gap. As we don't have tickets for Titus Andronicus or Arden of Faversham there's an absence of theatre until The White Devil in September, but it has been a great year so far.
And this time both cats remained in perfect health.
Next week is SATs week.
